Hello World! Happy New Year and welcome to the website! I’m Vy La. I am a mother to 2 sweet and rowdy boys (6 years and 21 months old). I’m a wife to a loving and supportive husband. We live in the small town of Murfreesboro, TN in the U.S. (30 minutes from Nashville). I am a graduate from Middle Tennessee State University, where I majored in Textile Merchandising and Design and minored in Business Entrepreneurship. For 6 years, I worked as children’s wear designer. After the birth of my second son, I became a stay at home mom/volunteer. Several months later, I had the opportunity to work freelance creating bespoke graphics and prints. After working on several freelance projects, I realized how much I missed designing and decided to give a go at starting my own design business. All while juggling being a stay at home mom. My days consists of playing and taking care of my beautiful baby…along with researching, brainstorming, sketching during his nap time. My nights (after getting the kids to sleep) also involve more researching, brainstorming, and sketching….but also designing on my computer when I felt most creative and inspired. It’s been exhausting, but worth it, to get to this point. I am so excited to be a part of the surface pattern design community.
